Britain feeding itself: 7pm Wed 23rd Jan

WWOOFing Knowledgeshare

This month we’re deviating from our skillshare series for a joint knowledgeshare event with Organiclea.

In April 2012 eager to learn more about the food system and sustainable rural living Naomi and Pip, two community food growers cycled out of London to explore farms, small holdings, permaculture sites and low impact communities in the UK. They pedalled over 800 miles through Devon, Dorset, Somerset and South and mid Wales visiting and working on a dozen or so amazing places over 9 months. Now they’re back in London to share what they saw before the next part of their adventure.

Pip and Naomi are both experienced growers who have worked at Organiclea, Growing Communities and Spitalfields City Farm; Naomi is also training in therapeutic horticulture.

Organiclea chef Jonny has kindly offered to make a healthy organic locally sourced soup for attendees in return for a small donation.

When: 7pm on Weds 23rd Jan

Venue: Hornbeam Centre, 458 Hoe Street, Walthamstow E17 9AH (the Hornbeam Centre is 1  block north of the Bakers Arms/Lea Bridge Road junction).
